Disney Book Tag

Hello, lovelies! I haven’t posted anything since January….. eech sorry about that. So I’m here to make it up to you by doing a Disney inspired book tag. Who doesn’t love Disney? (lots of people but shhh! I do!)

THE LITTLE MERMAID, a character out of his/her element. (a fish out of water, if you will.)  (or a mermaid out of water? oh well, whatever.)

For this one I’m gonna go with…

Ruby Red by Kerstin Gier. So long story short, the main girl in this book, Gwynith, grows up thinking that her cousin, Charlotte has the time traveling gene in her family(a long line of time travelers). Charlotte learned everything there is to know about it, i.e How to dance the waltz in the 1800s, how to behave at a tea party with Queen Victoria, etc. Whereas Gwen learned nothing, she barely even new about it let alone how to dance the minuet. Anyhow she gets the gift and she has to learn everything. She starts traveling with Gideon another time traveler(I love him so much). But, yeah… fish out of water. 😉

CINDERELLA,  character who goes through a major transformation.

Ready? Ready???

Red Queen by Victoria Aveyard. Let’s just say she wasn’t always queen….

SNOW WHITE,  a book or series with a eclectic cast of characters

I’m going to have to go with one of my favorite trilogy, which I refer to way too often…

The Darkest Minds trilogy by Alexandra Bracken. Each character is so unique, quirky, and amazing. Each character holds their own and that’s something I absolutely adore about this trilogy. Plus Liam is my baby. 😉

Sleeping Beauty,  a book that put you to sleep.

I’m sorry, but….

Ready Player One by Earnest Cline. ho ho ho hold up, I am not saying that I did not like this book! I loved it! It’s nerdy and quirky and amazing, I’m just saying that it took me like 2 months to get through this book, and it’s only like 300 pages. It just takes a while to get through it. Perfect place for a nappy nap is all I’m saying.

THE LION KING, a character who has something traumatic happen to them in their childhood.

hmm so many to choose from….

Shatter Me trilogy by Tahereh Mafi. I don’t want to spoil anyone, so… yeah.

BEAUTY AND THE BEAST, a beast of a book(a big book) that you were intimidated by but you ended up really loving.

I’ll just have to go with the biggest book I’ve ever read which is…

City of Heavenly Fire by Cassandra Clare. The last book in the Mortal Instruments series.  So this book is 725 pages long… At first I was intimidated, but when I started reading it I got so sucked in. I finished it in 2 days… it’s bad. 😉

ALADDIN, a character who gets their wish granted, for better or worse

this is really hard actually. uhm I guess…

Under the Never Sky by Veronica Rossi.  Again I don’t want to spoil any of y’alls but… She wanted to get out and then she did, and now she has to live under the never sky. (wow I should totally write things for book covers! haha just kidding)

MULAN,  a character who pretends to be someone or something they are not.

I actually just finished this book so i’m going to go with…

Just one day by Gayle Forman. Main girl, Allyson, meets main boy, Willem, and since she has a bob hair cut and that moment, Willem thinks she looks like Louise brooks so he precedes to call her Lulu. So Allyson pretends to be her for their magical day in Paris. (I hope this doesn’t spoil anything!)

Toy Story, a book with characters you wish would come to life.

This one is so hard!! They’re so many characters were alive and with us. Actually I take that back I wanna go to their world! Anyway here goes… Don’t judge me.

All the Shadowhunter books by Cassandra Clare!! They are all beautiful and in depth characters and I love them all and I just want them in my life. I wanna be friends with them, and become a Shadowhunter so just come into our world already!

Disney Descendants, your favorite villain or morally ambiguous character.

If this spoils anything for you then… You didn’t hear it from me… haha but seriously I’m sorry.

Dimitri Belikov from Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead. Yeah… I love him. But him being evil is freaky.

Anyway, that’s all folks!

Happy New Years! 14 favorite books of 2014!

So hey all you beautiful people…. IT’S 2015! How crazy is that?? I got this idea from Abookutopia on the good ol’ BookTube to tell you all my 14 favorites of 2014. I’m sad to say that this year, although it was my plan to read 100, I only read 60 books this year. Sad, huh? Well I’m determined to do in 2015!!!

Let’s start this baby with a bang! (These aren’t in any specific order.)

  • THE MORTAL INSTRUMENTS BY CASSANDRA CLARE (I’m just gonna say whole series’ because I can’t this of one I like better than the rest)
  • ALLEGIANT BY VERONICA ROTH (no matter how much pain it caused me)

Winter Wonderland book tag

“Baby it’s cold… Baby it’s cold outside! ”

So today where I live it’s pretty freaking cold out. It’s the kind of day where you just want a Snuggie and to watch movies/read books all day…. Or blog because you’re insane (like me!).  I’m gonna to do the Winter Wonderland tag, even if it’s not winter yet. It feels like it!

What book is so happy and sweet that it warms your heart?

I would have to say… Dash and Lily’s book of Dares by Rachel Cohn and David Levithan. This book even takes place around Christmastime so it works. But it’s also really lighthearted and cute, but very intelligent and witty.

What is your favorite book with a white cover?

This cover may not be all white but I’m gonna go with it. If I stay by Gayle Forman. I love this book. Unlike a lot of other books I read the main girl, Mia, is not at all annoying. She’s awesome, and her parents are super cool as well as Adam.

You’re sitting on the couch snuggled in a onesie and drinking a nice, hot cup of hot cocoa but what MONSTER book are you reading?

The Iron King by Julie Kagawa. Awesome? Yes. Scary? Heck yeah. Especially in the beginning. Pale bowler hat guy in the closet… Nails scratching at the window at night… creepy, huh? That’s just the beginning of that book.

It started snowing! Which fictional characters would you love to have a snowball fight with?

Shadowhunters! In Clockwork Angel or City of Bones by Cassandra Clare. That would be really fun. Though it might get messy…;/

Sadly your fire is about to go out. Which book would you tear the last few chapters out of to add to the fire? (hypothetically speaking)

Allegiant by Veronica Roth. It’s just so sad… *sniff*

What book is so close to your heart that you would give it as a gift to someone this Christmas that wants to gets into reading?

I guess that’d have to be…

Maximum Ride series by James Patterson. These are the books that made me love Young Adult Fantasy. I’ve gone a long way from then but these will always be close to my heart.

There you go! Byyyeeeeeee

The Sick Book Tag!

I’m just getting over a cold which sucks, so here’s a my Sick Book Tag. It was first created by Dark_Chickie on Wattpad. So the rules are really easy so I’m not going to go into describing them, I hope you catch on! Here I go!

Diabetes- a book too sweet, like really sweet.

Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell. Not really romancy but just adorable. I was smiling the whole time reading it.

Chicken Pox- a book you picked up once but will never pick up again.

Beta by Rachel Cohn. I really liked the idea of this book but it disappointed me 100%. I don’t think I’ll ever finish the series.

Influenza- a contagious book that spreads like a virus.

Clockwork Princess By Cassandra Clare. There are no words for my love of this book. It made be laugh, it made me burst into tears like a baby, and made me happy cry.

The Cycle- a book you read every month, year, or often.

Goose Girl by Shannon Hale. I’ve been reading this book since I was a little girl and I will continue reading until I am in a wheelchair.

Insomnia- a book that kept you up all night.

The Darkest Minds by Alexandra Bracken. I couldn’t get into this book for the first 100 pages but after that I couldn’t put this book down. This book is so great. I keep mentioning this book in my posts but I just love it that much!

Amnesia- a book that’s forgotten and didn’t leave a powerful impression in your memory.

“”I wish I could wake up with amnesia! And forget about the stupid little things.”” Sorry I couldn’t help it 😉 This one is……Uglies by Scott Westerfeld. I really, really, really liked the idea of this book. But it was just super boring. Scott could have done so much more with this book! I just didn’t really ever get into it.

Asthma- A book that took your breath away.

The Fault in our Stars by John Green. This book was amazing and so well written. It made me feel the feels.

Malnutrition- a book that lacked food for thought.

Matched by Ally Condie. Unfortunately, nothing happened. Ever. -_-

Travel Sickness- a book that took you on a trip through time and space.

Across the Universe by Beth Revis. Again there are no words for my love of this book. So good! Why did it have to end?!

Well there you go! I hope you enjoyed that, I did!

The book sacrifice tag!

The book sacrifice tag is that I’m going to be telling all you lovely people which books I personally didn’t enjoy. Don’t hate me if you liked some of these. I’m glad you enjoyed them! So let’s get this baby on the road!

Okay so the first scenario is ZOMBIE APOCALYPSE.  So let’s say you’re walking through an aisle and then BAM! Zombie Apocalypse! Like the full on dead people coming to eat you. Then a voice crackles through the speakers saying that the only way to defeat the zombies is to find an over hyped book. For this I’m gonna go with……. wait for itttttttttt………. Matched by Allie Condie. I think this book was way too hyped, and it was pretty dumb. I only made it through half the second book, and definitely don’t plan on finishing the series.

Okay second scenario! So you’re at the salon and you just got this super cute haircut. You walk outside and BAM! Torrential Downpour! The only way to save you’re hair is to sacrifice a sequel and use it as an umbrella. Which one will I choose? Hmmm……. Torment by Lauren Kate! The first book was okay, but as the story went on there was almost no character development.  Both Daniel and Luce were annoying. They were just instantly in love! I mean I get that he is, but she hasn’t met him in this life! You don’t just instantly fall in love with someone just because he’s attractive!

So third scenario is that you’re in the library and BAM! Global warming strikes! Outside becomes a frozen wasteland. You’re in the library and you’re only hope of survival is to burn a book… Which would be the first book I run to and which book would be the last one i’d run to? First book would be…….. Nick and Norah’s Infinite Playlist by Rachel Cohn and David Levithan! They are so freaking dumb!! What are they doing with their lives?!?! I’ll tell you! Partying and making out with strangers. Ugh. This book made me so mad, as you can probably tell. We gonna let it burn, burn, burn.  Second book that I would never, ever, ever burn is… Whoo this is really hard! In my head it’s a fight between three books! Across the Universe, The mortal Instruments, and The Darkest Minds… I can’t choose a single book in TMI that i love the most, Or in Across the Universe, So I gotta choose The Darkest Minds. If I think about this too much I’m gonna think of other books that I love so I’m done!

So yeah that’s it! I hope you enjoyed this! You should do this tag, It’s actually fun!

Creatures of the Night book tag

Hello Everyone!

Today I’ll be doing the Creatures of the night book tag first created by Katytastic on Youtube. In this tag we have a list of ten different supernatural creatures. I will think of a book and a character from the book that most fits the creature given. So let’s do this thingy!

Team Edward!! Just kidding! Never! Anyway, I’m sorry if this spoils anything for you but I’m gonna choose Simon from The Mortal Instruments series by Cassandra Clare. I just think he’s really sweet and funny.

I guess I’m gonna go with Cole  from The Wolves of Mercy Falls series. I didn’t like Sam very much from that series, because I think he’s whiny. I just think Cole had more character.

I don’t think I’ve ever read a book with a zombie in it yet. I’ll go with R from  the Warm Bodies movie. I haven’t read the book, but I really liked R.

I don’t know if she was technically a ghost but I’m just gonna roll with it. I chose Mia from If I stay. Not because that is the only book I’ve read with a ghost in it (which it probably is)  but I really like that book.

So of course when I see warlock I think Magnus Bane from The Mortal Instruments! And for witch I’m gonna say Lena from Beautiful Creatures.

For this one I’m going to go this the Fae in the Throne of Glass series by Sarah J. Maas. In, I think, all the books I’ve read with fae in it they are always EVIL! Or untrustworthy! Or Both!

I, again, don’t know if these are technically demons but I’m gonna go with the clockwork creatures in The Infernal Devices trilogy by Cassandra Clare. These babies are super creepy.

So I’m gonna go with Patch from the Hush, Hush series by Becca Fitzpatrick. Even though I didn’t really like Nora in this series, I really liked Patch. I love me a badboy. 😉

This automatically goes to…….. Wait for it…….. *clears throat* Shades Of Earth (#3 in the Across the Universe trilogy) This is some of my all time favorite books!! So great!

Eech this is gonna be really hard. I love so many! Er maybe….. No….. but….. No! Fine! The Darkest Minds by Alexandra Bracken! I love this book so freaking much! Ruby is super cool, Liam is adorable and a sweetheart, Chubs is hilarious, and Zu is a cutie pie. And all of them have superpowers!!  I love this trilogy so much, which you can probably already tell! I can’t wait to read the last one!

So yeah…  Thanks for sticking with me this whole time! The Creatures of the Night tag was super fun! You should do it! Let me know if you do! HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

Pop Culture Shock: Frozen Meets Narnia

Interesting theory… I think this is really cool. 🙂

Mindless Productivity

200th post! Whether you’ve been following this blog from the beginning or just found it today, thanks for supporting with each read!

To mark the occasion, I’m introducing a new segment called Pop Culture Shock. This is where I explore outlandish fan theories and mesh different stories in ways that were never intended by their authors.

For today, I’d like to introduce you to a fan theory of mine that weaves together Disney’s Frozen and C.S. Lewis’ The Chronicles of Narnia.

*     *     *

I like Disney movies. They’re so cheerful and uplifting, and hardly ever have horrifying implications.

Take Frozen, for example. Sure, it gets a little dark, but in the end, good prevails, sisters are reconciled, and everyone lives happily ever after. Except for the dead parents, but, hey, this is Disney.

But what if I told you that…

God is with you even through your darkest hour.

God is with you even through your darkest hour.

I have been going through a bad time lately, but as my Mom always reminds me: He is always there, watching over you, protecting you, and loving you. Even when you feel as if no one cares (Which I’ve been feeling a lot), He does. I have been going through a lot, and hiding things from my parents. They get angry and agitated, but God it there. Always. He can look beyond what you have done, what you will do, and love you still. Even when everyone else you love has given up on you. To me, it seems like everything I do, it ends up being wrong, and my parents distrust me even more. Je t’aime Mon Dieu!

This whole paragraph is pretty much just to tell you that He is with you even in your darkest hour. 🙂
